A: The alarm system uses your phone to communicate the alarm signals. If your phones are down, or you have made phone changes a test needs to be completed to ensure your system is communicating correctly. This test can be completed by calling our office at 405-732-9000.

A:Our technicians are trained to install the door contacts in your home to pick up small amounts of movement, to provide you with the most protection. At times, if the door does not close tightly, someone pushes on the door or strong winds occur, the movement of the door may trigger the alarm system.
A:Your system will not arm if any protected doors or windows are open. Please ensure all protected doors and windows are closed. If you are still having trouble arming, please call our office for further assistance.
A:Yes. Your system will function exactly as normal while running on the backup battery. It will go into a power saving mode to conserve the battery. This includes turning off the keypad until a button is pressed. Be aware, if you have digital phones, your phone lines may not work, preventing your system from communicating. Alcom Security also offers a cellular unit with Real Time voice technology, which does not require a phone in the home.
A:The service plan covers normal wear and tear on the system, defective parts, and general system troubles. It does not cover batteries, phone changes, intentional damage, or acts of nature.
A:Many of our customers choose to install home security systems with alarm monitoring only after something unexpected occurs. These enhanced security features are definitely worth it because they prevent any risk to your home before it happens.
A:This is highly variable depending on the insurance carrier you have coverage with. We encourage you to consult your documentation to find an accurate idea of the effect home security will have on your premiums.
A:We recommend that you choose features depending on your level of risk. Most customers choose door and window sensors, cameras and motion sensors as well as spotlights surrounding their properties. You can also include doorbell cameras, wireless monitoring and carbon monoxide detectors for an increased level of security.
A:We recommend that you install your home security camera pointing towards your front door at the minimum, but you may wish to include cameras that capture your entire property should you need them.
A:Yes. Our security systems are enabled with smart technology that allows you to control the entire system from your cell phone.
A:Yes. Wireless home security systems are built with robust security measures, and allow you to view in real time what is happening in and around your home.
A:Yes. You can add authorized users to your security system interface so that multiple people can access your security feeds.
A:Our doorbell cameras allow you to view who is at your door, even when they haven’t pressed the bell. The motion sensor technology captures what it sees, and you can even converse with a person at your door through the app even when you are not home.
A:Yes. The doorbell cam requires an app to access the features.
